Two Premium Couch Options, One Farm
Premium Couch Turf for Homes, Parks and Landscapes
Couch is the grass behind many of the best-presented lawns you will see, from golf fairways to smart suburban front yards. It forms a thick mat, handles dry weather, recovers quickly from wear and can be mown low for a tidy finish. We grow two couches so you can match the variety to your goals.
Wintergreen is our tough all-rounder with a fine blade and soft feel, while Greenlees Park offers a deeper colour and an even finer texture. Both are grown and cut to order on our Cornwallis farm, usually ready in a day or two, and available by delivery, pickup or full installation.
In short: Arrow Turf is a family-owned farm on the Hawkesbury River growing two premium couch turf varieties, Wintergreen and Greenlees Park, for homes, landscapers, councils and businesses. Price mainly reflects the variety, area, preparation, access and delivery distance. Each couch turf order is harvested fresh and is normally ready in a day or two.

Choosing Couch for Your Project
Couch Turf for Homes, Councils and Landscapers
Couch turf makes sense for anyone with a sunny site who values a neat, low-growing lawn. Homeowners love its fine feel and neat, manicured look. Landscapers use it to frame garden beds and paths cleanly. Councils, schools and property managers appreciate its ability to recover from constant use, and its tolerance of dry weather helps public spaces stay presentable. Where couch is less suited is heavy shade, so it is worth assessing how much direct sun your area gets before choosing it.
At Arrow Turf, we help you decide between Wintergreen and Greenlees Park based on how the lawn will be used and how it should look. Every order is cut fresh on our farm and delivered by forklift truck, collected by you or laid by our crews, whichever option suits your project and budget best. Lawn Issues Couch Fixes
Tired Lawns, Dry Yards and Heavy Foot Traffic
Couch is often the fix when an existing lawn keeps letting its owner down in one of these three familiar ways.
Thin, patchy grass. An old lawn full of bare spots and weak areas never looks right, however much effort goes into it. Couch’s thick mat gives full, even coverage from the day it is laid, replacing a tired surface with a uniform one in a single job.
Lawns that fade in dry periods. Grasses with poor drought tolerance quickly lose condition when rain is scarce, turning straw-coloured within weeks. Couch copes well with dry weather and holds its cover once established, so the yard stays presentable through long, warm spells.
High-traffic areas that never recover. Parks, school grounds and family yards see constant use from people, bikes and pets. Couch recovers quickly from wear, so pathways, goal areas and play spaces keep their grass instead of becoming permanent bare tracks.

Couch Turf Pricing
How Much Does Couch Turf Cost?
Couch turf pricing depends on which of our two varieties you choose, how many square metres you need and what work happens before laying. Removing an old lawn, levelling, adding underlay, delivery distance, site access and professional installation all affect the quote, as does choosing maxi rolls for a large area.
| Price driver | How it affects your cost |
|---|---|
| Variety | Couch sits between Kikuyu and soft leaf buffalo in price per m². |
| Lawn area | Turf is priced per square metre, and larger orders can attract better rates. |
| Pickup, delivery or installation | Collecting from our farm avoids a delivery charge; delivery and laying are quoted on top. |
| Extras | Turf underlay, lawn starter fertiliser or water crystals add to the total. |
Share your project details and preferred couch variety, and we will prepare a free, no-obligation quote for your new lawn.
Grown by Our Family
Our Hawkesbury Farm and How We Cut Couch to Order
Both of our couch varieties are grown at 104 Cornwallis Road, Cornwallis, on the banks of the Hawkesbury River. Our family has worked this land for more than 45 years, and we nurture each paddock until the couch has formed a dense, healthy mat that holds together well when rolled.
Nothing is cut until an order is placed. Once harvested, the rolls are stacked on pallets for delivery across Greater Sydney and nearby regions such as the Blue Mountains and Central Coast, or prepared for collection at the farm, where our team helps load them by hand or machinery at a booked time.

How Arrow Turf Supplies Premium Couch Turf
Our process for supplying couch is built around freshness and convenience. Here is how we guide you from choosing the right variety to enjoying a newly laid, well-watered lawn at your property.
1. Measure your lawn: work out the square metres you need, or send us your measurements to double-check.
2. Choose how you receive it: collect from our farm, book delivery six days a week, or have our crew install it.
3. We cut it fresh: your turf is harvested to order and usually ready within a day or two.
4. Lay and water in: lay it on the day it arrives and water deeply for the first few weeks.
Low Mowing, Clean Edges and the Look of a Couch Lawn
Much of the appeal of couch also comes from its appearance and the ways it can be maintained over time.
A golf-course look at home. Couch’s thick, fine mat gives that groomed fairway appearance many homeowners admire when they walk past a well-kept course or sports ground. Instant turf gives you that look from the first day.
Mowing low for a crisp finish. It can be cut quite low and rewards regular mowing with a tight, even surface that looks sharp from the street and feels smooth underfoot.
Defined lines in landscape design. Fine couch creates strong contrast against garden edging, timber decking and natural stone, helping landscapers present planted areas and paths with real clarity and polish.
Fresh rolls every time. Every single roll is cut to order on our Hawkesbury farm, so your new couch goes down with plenty of moisture and life and settles in quickly once watered.
Frequently Asked Questions About Couch Turf
What is couch turf?
Couch turf is a fine-bladed, low-growing lawn grass that forms a thick mat and gives a manicured, golf-course look. It loves full sun, copes well with dry weather and recovers quickly from wear. We grow two premium couch varieties on our farm: Wintergreen and Greenlees Park.
Which couch should I choose, Wintergreen or Greenlees Park?
Choose Wintergreen if toughness and an all-round family lawn are your priority, as it is the stadium and golf course couch with a thick mat. Pick Greenlees Park for a darker, finer finish suited to showpiece front lawns, bowling greens and commercial landscapes.
Is couch turf good for shady yards?
Couch performs best in full sun and isn’t suited to heavy shade. For areas that miss out on direct light, our team can recommend another variety from our range, and many customers combine couch in the sunny zones with a different grass in the darker spots.
Is couch turf suitable for parks and councils?
Yes. Councils, schools and property managers choose couch turf because it recovers quickly from heavy use and copes with dry weather. Maxi rolls are available for large public areas, reducing the number of joins and speeding up coverage on big sites.
How should a new couch lawn be mown?
Couch rewards regular mowing, which keeps it dense and tidy. After laying, wait two to three weeks before the first cut on a high setting, then gradually lower the mower as the lawn establishes and thickens over the following weeks.
How do I prepare the ground for couch turf?
Clear the old lawn, level the surface and spread an 80/20 underlay roughly 100 to 150 mm deep. Lay the couch turf on the day it arrives and water deeply once or twice a day for about three weeks to help it root.
How soon can I get couch turf?
Because every roll is cut to order, most couch orders are ready within a day or two. Delivery runs six days a week, and pickup from our Cornwallis farm can be arranged for the following day if you let us know the day before.
Where can I read about each couch variety in detail?
Each variety has its own page: Wintergreen couch covers our toughest couch in depth, while Greenlees Park couch details our darker, finer option for premium lawns, golf greens and bowling greens. Both pages include full specifications and care notes.
