Farm to Site, Hassle-Free
Matilda Buffalo Turf Delivery Done Properly
Turf delivery is about more than dropping pallets at the kerb. Fresh Matilda Buffalo is heavy and living, so how and where it’s unloaded makes a big difference to your day. Our trucks are fitted with forklifts, which means we can place turf close to where it will be laid rather than leaving you to carry rolls from the street.
Every delivery starts on our family farm at Cornwallis, where your Matilda is harvested to order. It’s loaded fresh and taken directly to your property, and once it’s in place we take the empty pallets away. You’re left with healthy turf and a clean site, ready to start laying.
In short: Arrow Turf is a Hawkesbury family farm with more than 45 years of experience, delivering Matilda Buffalo direct from our Cornwallis paddocks to sites across Greater Sydney. Delivery cost depends on distance, load size and access, plus any installation, and most orders are cut and ready to go within a day or two.

Delivery Without the Fuss
Fresh Matilda Buffalo Delivered Where You Need It
Homeowners, landscapers and builders all want the same thing from a turf delivery: fresh rolls, arriving on time, placed somewhere sensible. That matters because turf is heavy, weighing roughly 15 to 20 kg per square metre, and because it should be laid on the day it arrives. A load dumped on the footpath, or one that turns up late on a hot afternoon, can mean hours of extra carrying and turf that starts to suffer before it even goes down.
We plan each Matilda Buffalo delivery around your site and schedule. Your turf is cut to order, loaded fresh and taken directly to you on one of our six delivery days. Our truck-mounted forklifts place pallets where you want them, and we take the pallets away once they’re unloaded. If you’d like the job finished too, our installation crews can lay it. Delivery Day Problems
Kerbside Drops, Leftover Pallets and Hot Afternoons: Delivery Issues We Solve
Poor turf deliveries tend to go wrong in the same three ways. Here’s how our approach to Matilda Buffalo delivery avoids each one and keeps your laying day on track.
Turf left at the kerb. Carrying hundreds of kilograms of turf from the street to the backyard is exhausting and slow. Our forklift-equipped trucks place pallets as close to the laying area as the site allows, saving you time and a lot of heavy lifting.
Empty pallets cluttering the site. Leftover pallets take up space and need to be disposed of. We recover our pallets once your Matilda has been unloaded, so your site stays clear and tidy.
Turf sitting in the heat. Fresh rolls left stacked in the sun can heat up and yellow. We cut your Matilda Buffalo to order and deliver it fresh, so you can lay it straight away while it’s in peak condition, with deep watering immediately afterwards.

Matilda Delivery Costs
How Much Does Matilda Buffalo Turf Delivery Cost?
The cost of Matilda Buffalo turf delivery depends mainly on how far your site is from our Cornwallis farm, the size of your load, how easily our truck and forklift can access the drop point and whether you’d like installation added. The table below sets out how each factor affects your delivered price.
| Price driver | How it affects your cost |
|---|---|
| Variety | Matilda soft leaf buffalo sits in our premium price range per m². |
| Lawn area | Turf is priced per square metre, and larger orders can attract better rates. |
| Pickup, delivery or installation | Collecting from our farm avoids a delivery charge; delivery and laying are quoted on top. |
| Extras | Turf underlay, lawn starter fertiliser or water crystals add to the total. |

Where Deliveries Start
Delivering Matilda Buffalo From Our Hawkesbury Farm
All our deliveries leave from 104 Cornwallis Road, Cornwallis, on the Hawkesbury River near Windsor and Richmond. We grow Matilda Buffalo in our own paddocks and harvest it only once a delivery is booked, so the turf on the truck has come straight from the ground. Our family has worked this land for more than 45 years.
From the farm, our trucks travel six days a week to homes, building sites, schools and commercial properties throughout the Hawkesbury and Greater Sydney. If delivery doesn’t suit, you’re welcome to collect from the farm instead, and our team will help you load your vehicle by hand or with machinery.

How Our Matilda Buffalo Delivery Works
Booking a Matilda Buffalo delivery takes just a few details. The four steps below explain how we confirm your order, schedule the harvest, deliver your turf and leave your site clear of pallets.
1. Measure your lawn: work out the square metres you need, or send us your measurements to double-check.
2. Choose how you receive it: collect from our farm, book delivery six days a week, or have our crew install it.
3. We cut it fresh: your turf is harvested to order and usually ready within a day or two.
4. Lay and water in: lay it on the day it arrives and water deeply for the first few weeks.
Site Access, Delivery Timing and Laying Preparation: Planning Your Delivery
A little preparation before your Matilda Buffalo arrives makes delivery day run smoothly.
Tell us about access. Mention narrow driveways, steep slopes, gates, overhead wires or soft ground when booking. That helps us plan where the truck can park and where the forklift can safely place your pallets.
Pick a realistic delivery day. Choose a day when you or your installer can lay the turf straight away. We deliver six days a week, so there’s usually a day that fits your plans.
Prepare the ground in advance. Remove the old lawn, level the area and spread an 80/20 turf underlay at around 100 to 150 mm before delivery day, so you can start laying as soon as the turf arrives.
Have watering ready. Water the new lawn deeply right after laying, then once or twice a day for roughly three weeks. Make sure your hoses or sprinklers reach every part of the area.
Frequently Asked Questions About Matilda Buffalo Turf Delivery
How does Matilda Buffalo turf delivery work?
Matilda Buffalo turf delivery starts with your order being cut fresh at our Cornwallis farm. It’s loaded onto one of our forklift-equipped trucks and brought to your site, where we place the pallets where you want them. When the last pallet is off, the empties go back on our truck.
Which days do you deliver?
Our Matilda Buffalo turf delivery runs six days a week. When you book, choose your preferred day and let us know about any access details at your property. We’ll confirm the arrangements beforehand so you can plan your laying around the delivery.
Can you place the turf in my backyard?
Our forklifts can place pallets close to where the turf will be laid, as long as access allows. If there are steps, narrow side paths or soft ground, the turf may need to be placed nearby, and we’ll discuss the best spot with you.
What happens to the pallets after Matilda Buffalo turf delivery?
We recover our pallets after every Matilda Buffalo turf delivery, so you won’t be left with them cluttering your driveway or site. It’s part of the service and helps keep the job clean and simple for you.
Do I need to be home for delivery?
It’s best to be there, or to have someone on site, so you can confirm where the pallets should go and start laying straight away. If that’s not possible, give us clear instructions when you book and we’ll discuss the options.
How soon after delivery should I lay the turf?
Plan to lay your Matilda the same day it’s delivered. Fresh turf is at its best straight off the truck, and leaving it stacked can cause it to heat up and yellow, particularly in warm weather. Water it deeply as soon as it’s down.
Can you install the turf after delivery?
Yes. Our installation crews can remove the old lawn, level the ground, spread underlay, lay your Matilda Buffalo and water it in. Combining delivery and installation means you deal with one team for the whole job.
Where can I find out more about your delivery service?
Our turf delivery service in Sydney page explains how we deliver across the city and surrounds. If you’d prefer to collect, see our turf pickup option in Sydney for how farm collection works, including booking a pickup time and getting help with loading.
