Ready to Order Your Kikuyu?
Buy Kikuyu Turf Direct From Our Family Farm
Buying turf direct from the grower means you know exactly where it came from and how long ago it was cut. At Arrow Turf, your Kikuyu is harvested from our own paddocks at Cornwallis only once you have placed your order, so it is never left waiting in a yard.
Kikuyu is the variety we recommend for open, sunny spaces that cop plenty of wear, from backyards and front lawns to parks and playing fields. Ordering is easy: give us your measurements, choose delivery or pickup, and add installation if you want the job done for you. We handle residential and commercial orders alike.
In short: Arrow Turf is a family-owned grower in the Hawkesbury that sells Kikuyu turf direct from the farm to homeowners, landscapers and builders across Greater Sydney. Prices depend on square metres ordered, delivery distance, preparation and installation. Orders are cut fresh and usually ready within a day or two of booking.

Ordering Made Easy
Order Hard-Wearing Kikuyu Turf for Sunny Areas
If you have a lawn that gets plenty of sun and plenty of use, Kikuyu is likely the right choice. Homeowners, landscapers, builders and developers order it for yards that need to handle children, pets, outdoor entertaining and sport. Getting the order right from the start matters, because ordering too little means a second trip, while ordering the wrong variety for your conditions means a lawn that never quite thrives in your yard.
We make ordering simple. Measure your area, call us on 0490 779 707 or order online, then choose a delivery date or a pickup time that suits. Our delivery trucks carry forklifts and recover empty pallets, so the turf lands where you want it. For a full service, our crews can take care of old lawn removal, levelling, underlay and laying. Before you order, you can check growth habits and care tips on our main Kikuyu turf page.

Kikuyu Order Options
What Your Kikuyu Turf Order Can Include
- Appearance: a bright green lawn with a medium-textured leaf that fills in quickly and evenly.
- Wear tolerance: vigorous runners help it bounce back from kids, pets, sport and heavy foot traffic.
- Sun and shade: thrives in full sun; it isn’t the best choice for heavily shaded spots.
- Drought hardiness: copes well with hot, dry spells once established and greens up quickly after rain.
- Maintenance: grows fast in the warmer months, so it needs regular mowing and edging to keep it tidy.
- Best suited to: large backyards, schools, parks, playing fields and anyone after a budget-friendly lawn.
Kikuyu Ordering Mistakes
Short Orders, Wasted Rolls and Wrong Varieties: Avoiding Common Mistakes
A little planning before you place a turf order saves time and money. These are the mistakes we see most often and how to avoid them. Most come down to timing and measurement.
Ordering too little turf. Measuring only the main rectangle and forgetting curves, corners and side paths often leaves you short. Measure each section separately, add them together and allow a small extra margin for cutting around edges.
Turf arriving before the site is ready. Kikuyu should be laid on the day it arrives. Booking delivery before old grass is removed and underlay is spread can leave rolls sitting on pallets and losing condition.
Choosing Kikuyu for a shady yard. Kikuyu loves full sun but thins out in heavy shade. If large parts of your yard sit in shadow, ask us about a soft leaf buffalo before you order. It is a quick conversation that can save a lot of disappointment.

Kikuyu Order Costs
How Much Does It Cost to Order Kikuyu Turf?
When you order Kikuyu turf, the quote is shaped by a handful of practical factors. The number of square metres matters most, followed by delivery distance from our farm, how easy it is to unload on site, whether you need old lawn removed and the ground levelled, and whether our crew lays it.
| Price driver | How it affects your cost |
|---|---|
| Variety | Kikuyu is our most budget-friendly variety per square metre. |
| Lawn area | Turf is priced per square metre, and larger orders can attract better rates. |
| Pickup, delivery or installation | Collecting from our farm avoids a delivery charge; delivery and laying are quoted on top. |
| Extras | Turf underlay, lawn starter fertiliser or water crystals add to the total. |

Kikuyu From the Grower
Grown, Harvested and Sold From Our Cornwallis Farm
When you order Kikuyu from us, it comes from our family farm at 104 Cornwallis Road, Cornwallis. We have been growing turf on the Hawkesbury River flats for more than 45 years, managing every stage from planting and feeding to harvesting.
Because we are the grower, we harvest your turf only after your order is placed, then prepare it for collection or load it onto the truck. We serve the whole of Greater Sydney, with delivery six days a week and farm pickup available by appointment. Let us know the day before for next-day collection, and our team will help you load by hand or machinery.

How Ordering Kikuyu From Arrow Turf Works
From your first call to the turf landing on site, the process is designed to be clear and predictable. These four steps cover everything that happens after you place your Kikuyu order.
1. Measure your lawn: work out the square metres you need, or send us your measurements to double-check.
2. Choose how you receive it: collect from our farm, book delivery six days a week, or have our crew install it.
3. We cut it fresh: your turf is harvested to order and usually ready within a day or two.
4. Lay and water in: lay it on the day it arrives and water deeply for the first few weeks.
Access, Weight and Timing: Planning Your Turf Delivery Day
Once your order is booked, a few on-site details help delivery day run smoothly for you and our driver.
Awkward access for Kikuyu drops. Narrow driveways, steep blocks and locked gates can complicate delivery. Let us know about access when ordering, and our forklift-equipped trucks will place the pallets as close to the work area as possible.
Underestimating the weight. Expect each square metre of fresh Kikuyu to weigh about 15 to 20 kg. If you are collecting, check your vehicle or trailer can carry the load safely, and our team will help you load it.
Not enough hands on laying day. Large orders take time to lay, and the turf should go down the day it arrives. Line up helpers in advance, or book our installation crew.
Forgetting about watering. New Kikuyu needs deep watering once or twice a day for about three weeks, so make sure hoses or sprinklers reach every part of the lawn.
Frequently Asked Questions About Ordering Turf Kikuyu
How do I order Kikuyu turf from Arrow Turf?
You can order Kikuyu turf online or by calling 0490 779 707. Give us your measurements, choose delivery or farm pickup and select a date and time. We harvest your turf to order, so it is fresh and usually ready within a day or two of booking.
How do I measure up for a Kikuyu turf order?
Measure the length and width of each section of your lawn in metres and multiply them to get square metres. Add the sections together, then allow a small extra amount for trimming around edges and curves. If you are unsure, send us a sketch and we can help.
Can I order Kikuyu turf for a commercial project?
Yes. We supply landscapers, builders, developers, schools and councils as well as homeowners. For large areas we can supply maxi rolls with fewer joins, and our crews can install the Kikuyu turf on commercial sites, including levelling and underlay preparation.
How much notice do you need for an order?
Because we cut to order, most orders are ready within a day or two. For farm pickup, let us know the day before for next-day collection. For delivery, booking a few days ahead gives you the best choice of dates, especially in the busier warmer months.
What happens on delivery day?
Our truck arrives with a forklift, places the pallets where you want them and takes the empty pallets away. Kikuyu deliveries are available six days a week. Make sure the site is prepared, because the turf should be laid on the day it arrives.
Should I order Kikuyu or a buffalo variety?
Choose Kikuyu for sunny, high-traffic areas where toughness and value matter most. A soft leaf buffalo suits yards with more shade or where a softer feel is the priority. If you are unsure which suits your site, describe it to us and we will recommend a variety.
Can I add delivery or pickup to my Kikuyu order?
Yes. You can book turf delivery across Sydney for your order, or arrange turf pickup from our farm if you would prefer to collect it yourself. Both options can be chosen when you place your Kikuyu order online or by phone.
Is your Kikuyu turf suitable for full-sun front lawns?
It is ideal for them. Our Kikuyu turf thrives in full sun, copes well with hot, dry spells once established and greens up quickly after rain. It does grow fast in the warmer months, so plan for regular mowing and edging to keep a front lawn looking neat.
